The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Candidates are sought with expertise in space systems engineering in support of technology, science, and operations.

Areas of specific interest include but are not limited to astrodynamics, cislunar dynamics, mission design, space domain awareness, small satellites, remote sensing, and other emerging areas in the new space economy.  Experience with spaceflight projects is welcome.  Candidates are encouraged to view these areas of interest in the broadest sense when determining whether they are well suited for this position.  Candidates will be expected to have a demonstrated interest in the application of these areas to aerospace engineering.

Collaboration is encouraged with the Center for Space Research, an internationally-recognized research center at the forefront of research into space science, engineering, and technology.  The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics is committed to supporting the success of all members of our community: students, staff, and faculty. Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related area. The successful candidate will be expected to create undergraduate and graduate learning environments that address the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds, with differing learning styles and abilities. Further, the successful applicant will be expected to develop an externally sponsored research program, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and profession.
