Position title:Assistant Teaching Professor
Salary range: The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The current base salary range for this position is: $74,600–$97,200. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Department of Chemistry at the University of California-Berkeley seeks applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor. The Department consistently ranks among the top research and teaching programs in the country and continues to be at the forefront of research and teaching in the chemical sciences. This is a senate faculty position on track for security of employment, which is equivalent to tenure. The appointee's primary responsibility is teaching and teaching-related tasks and secondary responsibility is professional and/or scholarly achievement and activity, including creative activity, especially as they relate to instruction and pedagogy. The faculty in this series also have responsibility for University and public service. Creative and energetic individuals who show extraordinary promise or accomplishment in any area within the field of chemistry will be considered. The person offered a position on our faculty would have an opportunity to interact with a diverse set of colleagues, who value inclusion and welcome collaboration. Berkeley also offers opportunities to interact and collaborate with researchers in other departments and with scientists and engineers at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
