We have a world-class research environment in Algorithms and Theoretical Computer Science. We are home to the Basic Algorithms Research Copenhagen (BARC) centre joint with the IT University of Copenhagen, and have extensive collaborations with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and with Lund University on the Swedish side of the Øresund Bridge, as well as with our many visitors. We aim to attract talent from around the world to an ambitious, creative, collaborative, and fun environment. Using the power of mathematics, we seek to create fundamental breakthroughs in algorithms and complexity theory. While our focus in on theoretical research, we do have a track record of surprising algorithmic discoveries leading to major industrial applications. It is a high priority at the Department of Computer Science to create a research environment of highest excellence allowing people from diverse backgrounds to thrive. Our new tenure track assistant professor will join a rapidly growing department, with strong research not only in Algorithms and Complexity, but also in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Human-Centered Computing, Software Engineering and Data Management, Programming Languages, Artificial Intelligence and Image Analysis.
