The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University solicits applications for a tenure-track faculty position with focus in mechanical engineering, advanced materials or related areas.

 

Candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.  We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests relevant to aerospace and other fields congruent with Louisiana Tech’s Research Centers:

Aligned with one of the research centers, successful tenure-track candidates are expected to actively participate in multidisciplinary research efforts; initiate, build and sustain an externally funded research program; and supervise masters and doctoral students. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to high quality university and professional service are also expected. The College is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. 

 

Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses that can include fundamental mechanical courses like Structures, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Materials, or related labs. Candidates able to enhance aerospace or related courses are of particular interest.
