Position overview

Position title:Neuro-Restorative
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $82,200-$235,400. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine (https://healthsciences.ucsd.edu/som) and the Department of Neurological Surgery (https://neurosurgery.ucsd.edu/index.html) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is engaging in a nationwide search for senior clinical researcher(s) to further develop and expand our research portfolio.

The UC San Diego Department of Neurological Surgery is among the leading neurosurgical centers in the nation. The position(s) will include participation in patient care, teaching, research, and strategic service line expansion. Specific emphasis is in the area of neuro-restorative potential of biologics including stem cell delivery.

The appropriate appointment at Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. The series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (Required at Time of Application)

Candidates must have a MD or equivalent and be Board certified in Neurological Surgery.

Candidates must also be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with an established experience with device development are preferred.
