The ideal candidate will have a strong record of leadership in teacher education and expertise in curriculum, pedagogy, program administration, policy, and current research. The School of Education is seeking a visionary leader who will uphold and advance the program’s mission to prepare future teachers committed to ambitious, equitable and socially just teaching and learning. This is a primarily administrative, non-faculty position that works closely with the Faculty Director of the Teacher Education Program. The School of Education takes this approach to make stronger ties with the senate faculty and teacher education program to contribute to research initiatives to study and improve teacher preparation. These ties are designed to bring research into teacher education, while simultaneously, enabling teacher educators to inform and engage in research. Program Description Director Responsibilities The program director also collaborates closely with the Faculty Director of Teacher Education and steering committee to establish and implement the program vision, oversee curriculum alignment, and provide strategic directions for program improvement (in alignment with state certification requirements).
