The Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden seeks expert practitioners and clinicians to join our dynamic team of faculty in the Summer and Fall of 2024 to share knowledge and experience with undergraduate students preparing for licensure as registered nurses in a wide variety of care settings. Successful applicants will work closely with faculty course coordinators to ensure the achievement of learning outcomes consistent with course objectives, including the maintenance of collaborative effective and ongoing communication with the course coordinator concerning student progress and/or concerns. Responsibilities include attending orientation, reviewing course syllabi with the course coordinator, using the electronic resources association with the course to access information pertinent to the education of students. As a part-time lecturer (PTL) you will be providing appropriate oversight and supervision of students providing care, providing student formative and summative evaluation, documenting clinical observations and/or reportable incidents which may occur during the clinical experience. The posting of grades, responding in a timely fashion to student emails via the Rutgers email system and adhering to all policies, procedures and deadlines of the School of Nursing-Camden are expectations. Some clinical sites require meetings at the site in advance of the clinical assignment and completion of additional site-based requirements. Successful applicants will be required to submit a copy of all required documents including an official transcript of the highest nursing degree earned and a health clearance to penny.mancini@rutgers.edu no later than one week following notification of their assignment.

Rutgers School of Nursing–Camden is an important leader in nursing education, research, and engaged civic learning in community service within southern New Jersey, the Delaware Valley, and beyond. We became the fourth designated school at Rutgers University–Camden in 2011, but our tradition of excellence in nursing education extends to 1972 when the Rutgers University–Camden Department of Nursing was first established. The Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden Center for Excellence in Inter-professional Practice, Education, and Innovation (CEIPEI) provides opportunities for active learning, promotes interprofessional collaboration, and stimulates innovation in nursing education and practice. The CEIPEI is accredited by the?Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). The Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP), a certificate within the School of Nursing’s graduate program, is currently the only accredited graduate level WOC program in the United States. Offered in both online and on-campus formats, the WOCNEP recruits students from across the nation. Our MSN in School Health is the first School Nurse Certificate Program based upon the National Association of School Nurses’ (NASN) Framework for the 21st?Century School Nursing Practice™.

Immunization Requirements

 

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
