Position summary

The Research Fellow will provide research support to specific projects attached to the Development Economics & Emerging Markets Cluster, and Sustainable Development Cluster specifically and wider School. Research interests include Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law, Blockchain with a focus on the green economy, green finance and the digital economy with social impact. Working under the general direction of the Head of Department, the Research Fellow will be responsible for coordinating the day-to- day research support activities of the projects, acting as first point of contract for all enquiries related to the projects, and provide support when needed.

 

Specific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature and duration of the projects, as provided by the Head of Department.

 

The Research Fellow will be expected to contribute specialist support, with technical or specialist expertise paramount.

Our requirements

  • University Doctoral degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law, Blockchain

  • Ability to use Stata, R or other Econometrics packages is required.

  • Research experience in primary or secondary data collection.

  • Extensive experience in international research bid application and project management

  • Ability to conduct research, to analyse, interpret, evaluate, coordinate as  well as report resulting information.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, and in liaising with people at all levels.

  • Demonstrated people skills

  • Experience in problem solving skills, preparing research reports and graphic presentations of data.

  • High level written and verbal communication skills.

  • Well-developed planning and organizational skills with proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks set, meet deadlines and give attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of literature review databases

 

Further information 

The role located is Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam, is open for both local and expatriate candidates.

 

Work Permit: All foreign employees must adhere to the requirements for obtaining a valid visa and work permit in Vietnam. These requirements are mandated by the Government and may be over and above the mandatory requirements and key selection criteria. Work permit requirements are subject to change.  RMIT Vietnam accepts zero tolerance to non-adherence of the immigration laws of Vietnam.

 

English Proficiency: English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 7.5 with no band less than 6.5.
