About the jobA Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in the Breast Cancer Genetics team led by Professor Katri Pylkäs. The team aims to elucidate genetic risk factors for breast cancer, and to resolve the molecular mechanisms leading to breast cancer predisposition and subsequent malignant conversion. Large patient cohorts collected form the genetically isolated Northern Finnish population are used for genetic analysis with the latest genomic technologies. For functional analysis, various genomics and transcriptomics approaches are used and combined with gene editing, biochemical assays and cell culture-based disease modelling. The research will be conducted at the Translational Medicine Research Unit, Faculty of Medicine. We have excellent molecular biology laboratories and instrumentation concerning the project’s needs.

SalaryThe position is fixed-term for 3 years as of 1.1.2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary will be based on the levels 5-6 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). Starting gross salary will be approx. 3600-4200 € per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6 months is applied in the position. How to apply?Interested?
