The Quantum Device Lab at ETH Zürich (ETHZ) lead by Prof. Wallraff and the Hybrid Quantum Circuits Lab at EPFL lead by Prof. Scarlino are seeking highly motivated candidates to join our collaborative effort, which aims to push the boundaries of quantum technology. We are looking for talented individuals to advance research on parametric amplifiers and their applications in quantum information processing. Join us in this pioneering project that offers the unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and lay the groundwork to start a venture. The positions are available starting from November 1, 2024. We will start reviewing applications on August 1, 2024, and continue the process until the positions are filled. Project backgroundOur project is a joint initiative between the Quantum Device Lab at ETH Zürich and the Hybrid Quantum Circuits Lab at EPFL. This collaboration has secured an Innosuisse grant to advance the capabilities of parametric amplifiers based on superconducting circuits. Both labs have a proven track record of successful research on parametric amplifiers and will assemble a talented team to elevate this research to the next level. We are offering three positions in our teams:
This collaborative effort combines the strengths and resources of both laboratories to advance the development of cutting-edge quantum technology. These positions are uniquely situated at the interface between academia and industry, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research with diverse future career possibilities. Job descriptionDuring the project, the successful candidates will be at the forefront of experimental research, both independently and as members of our research teams. You will be part of an international team working on quantum devices both at ETH Zürich and EPFL. Each position is initially limited to a term of eighteen months, with potential for extension. All three new team members will contribute to regular team meetings to report on project progress. Specifically, their responsibilities will include:
Your research will benefit from the comprehensive infrastructure, expertise, and collaborative network available within our research groups. ProfileWe are seeking candidates with a strong interest in quantum technology based on superconducting quantum circuits. Proficiency in English, in reading, writing and discussing scientific material is essential, along with strong teamwork and excellent communication skills.
