Centre for Mathematics Sciences at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering invites applications for a position as Senior Lecturer in Mathematics.

Description of the workplace

The advertised position will be placed either at the Division for Algebra, Analysis, and Dynamical Systems (AADS) or at the Divison for Applied Mathematics (AM) at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (MC). The Centre for Mathematics Sciences is a joint institution of the Faculty of Engineering (Lund University of Technology, LTH) and the Faculty of Science (N) at Lund University, where the two mentioned divisions formally belong to LTH.

Research at MC currently encompasses areas such as mathematics (interdisciplinary), applied mathematics, mathematical statistics, as well as computer vision and machine learning. The department has approximately 150 employees, including several professors and senior researchers, as well as around 50 doctoral students.

In addition to research in their respective fields, the AADS and AM divisions have a significant responsibility for mathematics education at both undergraduate and advanced levels. LTH admits over 1000 new students to its engineering programs every year, and mathematics education is a central part of the five-year curriculum. The quality of mathematics education, especially at the advanced level, depends on the presence of research-active teachers who can contribute to making the course content both interesting and relevant. Therefore, we are seeking university lecturers who are interested in teaching, who are pedagogically skilled, and simultaneously active researchers with solid credentials.
